Priorities

Our dad is 90 years old.  He has been in the hospital a long time and is planning to come home to our family compound this weekend.  (There are four family homes here on this farm, housing eleven family members.) His slow recovery has changed our lives.  Everything gets put on hold when a loved one is ill.
Just in case I'm missed anyone's call please try again.  Life is sure to get more sane soon.
One of the first things I look forward to doing more is cooking.  We picked up some beautiful red peppers that are going into Roasted Red Pepper Soup w/Saffron I want to test for our next class on May 10th.  It's been awhile since I made it, it was awesome.
Saffron is the world's most expensive spice!  I was actually able to purchase it at Basic Ingredients in Ashtabula.  It comes from the stamen (little hair-like parts) of a special crocus flower which is hand picked.  It adds a beautiful yellow color and unique flavor to dishes.  I especially like it in Risotto.  A little goes a long way.
Besides cooking I love to work in my herb garden which I did today.  The herb garden wraps around my kitchen.  The shaded side is more of a hosta garden now as our maple tree grows larger.  When the breeze calmed down I just sat on the ground in the sunshine in- between my lavender plants and cleaned them up.  The smell was astounding.  It made me feel happy!

At the end of the day, if you're in the market for a tablet, you could do a lot worse than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. It's a solid performer, and the bright widescreen display is tailor-made for things like watching HD video.
