Took my class to the road again, this time it was for a private party in Richfield, Ohio . Ended up being the best evening!
The guests were all so diverse . Some seemed quite experienced in the culinary world, while others were like little sponges soaking up new information. Everyone had a hand in preparing the meal. We roasted red peppers, practiced our knife skills, learned about a balsamic reduction and made graham cracker crust.
Throughout the evening I picked up bits of information about each guest during the class conversation. It was evident they were a vibrant group with a vast array of interests from traveling, piloting a plane from the air and on the ground, wrestling an alligator, cycling, science about our world, healthful foods and trying new foods. Rene, hope to hear about it when you run with the bulls!
Joining the group for the meal, it was so satisfying to see them enjoy the fruits of our labor. Even my new friend sitting next to me, who was a bit apprehensive about new foods, tried my pie made with tofu.
Yes, I do think "Herb Garden School at Your Place" was a great idea. Seeing the cooperation and comradery while learning new skills was great. One thing for sure, we all like to eat - why not make it good for us?!
